Commodity highlights:
  • Humera, Wollega sesame and White Pea Beans are available in large quantities at the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX)

1) Free from dead or alive insects and weevils; and
2) Fumigated prior to shipment and fit for human consumption.


1. Sesame Seeds (Humera and Wollega type)

  • Humera is 1,750 USD per MT FOB Djibouti
  • Wollega is 1,700 USD per MT FOB Djibouti
  • Minimum order of 1 x 20″ FCL (18 MT)
  • Executed through the ECX, procesed at our warehouse and goods delivered to port c. 30 days from L/C issuance


Since the highs at the beginning of November, Ethiopian sesame prices have gradually trended downward and have fallen c. 10%.


2. White Pea Beans

  • 720 USD per MT FOB Djibouti
  • Minimum order of 1 x 20 foot FCL (23 MT)
  • Executed through the ECX, procesed at our warehouse and goods delivered to port c. 30 days from L/C issuance


WPB has had a volatile December, with a c. 15% trading range and current prices are climbing back to season highs due to large Middle-Eastern buyer in market.
